Let me tell you a story that’s nothing short of magical. On the stroke of midnight, as thousands of people counted down to the New Year, Maria Menounos and her longtime love, Keven Undergaro, exchanged vows live on TV. That’s right—live. It wasn’t just any show; it was Fox’s New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey, and guess who officiated the wedding? Steve himself. Talk about a memorable way to ring in the new year.
Maria looked every bit the picture of elegance in a stunning lace Pronovias gown. Her parents, Constantine and Litsa Menounos, were there to witness the special moment, making it an unforgettable family affair. “This was just so perfect,” Maria gushed. She went on to say, “NYC is going to be such a special place for us.” And honestly, who could argue with that? Celebrating your wedding in one of the most iconic places in the world? Pure magic.

Fast forward just a few weeks after their big day, and the couple is already dreaming about the next chapter in their lives—starting a family. But here’s the thing: Maria has been through quite the journey. A few years back, she battled a brain tumor, and while she came out victorious, the experience has left her thinking carefully about how to grow her family. “I need to work with doctors to see if getting pregnant is the smartest thing,” Maria shared in a candid interview with People. “I do have some kids in the freezer,” she joked, referring to her frozen embryos, “maybe we’ll implant. But if not, we’ll look into surrogacy.”

Keven, ever the supportive partner, is all about ensuring Maria’s health comes first. “We definitely want children,” he said. “But I’m very concerned about her going through a pregnancy, and I would like to explore [using a] surrogate because her body has been through hell. I want a baby desperately, but I don’t want it to be at the risk of her health.” Can we just pause for a moment and applaud this guy? His love and concern for Maria are evident in every word he speaks. It’s clear that their relationship is built on mutual respect and care.
For Maria, the experience of battling the brain tumor has been transformative. She’s called it “the best thing to ever happen to her.” Think about that for a second. Most people would label such an event as a nightmare, but Maria sees it differently. “Would you believe me if I told you that the brain tumor is the best thing that ever happened to me?” she asked Women’s Health in December 2017. “It’s freed me from all of that anxiety of having to be perfect. You can’t control everything; leave it to God and just say, ‘Okay, this is my journey.’”

This whole experience, she says, has been a gift. “This happened for a reason,” she reflected. And honestly, who could argue with that? Sometimes, life throws curveballs, but it’s how we respond to them that defines us.
Maria remains incredibly optimistic about what the future holds. “I really believe that God has a plan,” she said. “If I’m supposed to have a baby, it’s going to happen. If not, maybe God is protecting me from this tumor growing.” Her faith and resilience shine through in every word. We’re rooting for you, Maria, and hoping everything works out exactly as it should.
