Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about Sweden’s newest royal cutie pie because this story is just too adorable to pass up. Just a few days after Princess Madeleine and her husband, Chris O'Neill, welcomed their third bundle of joy on Friday, March 9, they announced their baby girl's name on Monday, March 12. Princess Madeleine, 35, took to her newly-created Instagram account to share the heartwarming news. "Adrienne Josephine Alice," she revealed, giving the world a glimpse into the newest addition to the Swedish royal family.
Hours after the name reveal, the princess hopped back onto Instagram to post a sweet photo of her two older children — four-year-old daughter Princess Leonore and two-year-old son Prince Nicolas — meeting baby Adrienne for the very first time. The image was accompanied by a touching caption: "Leonore and Nicolas welcoming their little sister home ❤️." This moment captures the pure joy and excitement of expanding their family, giving fans a peek into the royal family's everyday life.

Last week, the official Kungahuset Instagram account of the Swedish royal family shared the first photo of Princess Adrienne, with the caption, “Princess Madeleine and Mr. Christopher O’Neill’s newborn daughter photographed at Danderyd Hospital earlier today.” The Swedish Royal Court also released an official statement, confirming that the “healthy child” weighed 7.6 pounds and measured 19.7 inches at birth, with both mother and baby doing well. This momentous occasion marks another joyous chapter in the Swedish royal family’s legacy.
Chris O'Neill, the proud father, shared his excitement in a statement: “We are delighted with the new addition to our family. Leonore and Nicolas have their long-awaited sibling. They can’t wait to meet their new baby sister.” In preparation for the baby's arrival, Madeleine flew back to Sweden from the couple's home in London, ensuring everything was ready for their newest family member.

Though Princess Madeleine is seventh in line for the Swedish throne, with her father being King Carl XVI Gustaf and her older sister Crown Princess Victoria next in line, she often emphasizes her relatability. In a past interview, she described herself as a "normal mom." She explained, "[My kids] wake me up and we fix breakfast together and the breakfast flies all over the place! And then we go out to the park and we swing, we try to do a lot of activities because my little Leonore, she has lots of energy, so we have to keep her stimulated and busy." This glimpse into her everyday life highlights her grounded nature despite her royal status.
Interestingly, Princess Madeleine and Chris aren’t the only ones expanding their family recently. Her younger brother, Prince Carl Philip, and his wife, Princess Sofia, welcomed their second child, a son named Prince Gabriel, in August 2017. This makes Adrienne one of several new royal babies bringing fresh energy to the Swedish royal family.
