In the latest issue of Closer Weekly, Dylan McDermott spills his heart about finding love again after his divorce. As his new film, Blind, hits the screen, the actor reflects on his journey to rediscovering happiness. "When you know, you know!" Dylan shares with Closer about falling for his fiancée, actress Maggie Q. "She’s an incredible person. I know her heart, and it was easy for me to say, 'Yes, I want to be with this person.'"
While discussing his upcoming wedding plans, Dylan admits, "We haven’t set a date yet. We're just soaking in the joy of being engaged." For Dylan, this chapter in life is special because it marks a fresh start after his first marriage to Shiva Rose, which lasted from 1995 to 2008. Together, they have two daughters—Colette, now 21, and Charlotte, 11. Life has changed, but love remains constant.

Dylan tells Closer that life offers endless opportunities for renewal. "There’s always another chance in life," he says. "That’s what makes it so amazing! Many people feel discouraged, and I get that. But I tell my kids: You can always start fresh." His optimism shines through as he embraces this new phase of his life with Maggie Q.
Beyond the excitement of his upcoming nuptials, Dylan reveals what truly draws him to Maggie. "I admire what she does for the world—her work in animal rights activism—and who she is as a person," he explains. "I think she’s beautiful inside and out. I trust her deeply. People often say that those who live the longest are the ones who let things go, not the ones who cling to everything. I truly believe that's the key to happiness."
