It seems like Megyn Kelly's been having a rough time lately. Reports suggest that celebrities are rethinking appearances on Megyn Kelly Today following her very public clash with Jane Fonda. According to an insider speaking to In Touch Weekly, it might not be long before Megyn’s show reaches its end. “Megyn was already struggling to book big-name stars,” the source explained. “Now, who’s going to want to appear on her show knowing she might criticize them afterward?”

Adding fuel to the fire, The Hollywood Reporter claims that actors are losing trust in Megyn after her on-air feud with Jane Fonda. Talent agents have reportedly told NBC they’re hesitant about booking their clients on the show. This comes after Megyn publicly criticized Jane during an episode, months after the Oscar winner refused to answer a question about plastic surgery live on air. Some say this was the tipping point for many in Hollywood.

What Sparked the Controversy Between Megyn Kelly and Jane Fonda?

Back in September, during the very first week of her show, Megyn posed a bold question to Jane Fonda. She said, “You’ve been a role model for everyone in terms of aging gracefully and with strength. You’ve admitted to having some work done, and I think that’s admirable. But why aren’t you proud to admit it?” Jane’s response was less than enthusiastic. She replied, “Do we really need to talk about that right now?” Awkward, right?

Fast forward to recently, and Megyn decided to call out Jane after the actress referred to her as a poor interviewer. With NBC executives allegedly aware of what was coming, Megyn let loose, repeatedly criticizing Jane, even going so far as to use the nickname “Hanoi Jane.” She concluded by saying, “I gave her the chance to inspire women, young and old, on a topic she claims to know well. But she turned it down. That’s fine with me. I have no regrets about asking the question.”

Apparently, NBC was blindsided by the extent of Megyn’s comments against Jane. “The real issue here is that no one at NBC is keeping Megyn in check. They paid her over $20 million to host the 9 a.m. show, and she’s been given far too much freedom. But the reality is: You can’t say those kinds of things, or be so aggressive, on morning TV,” an insider revealed to Page Six.

This isn’t the first time Megyn has stirred up controversy in Hollywood. Within the first two weeks of her show's launch, she ruffled feathers when she asked a Will & Grace fan, “Is it true that you became a lawyer—and you became gay—because of Will?” The show’s star, Debra Messing, then reportedly got into hot water with NBC after publicly criticizing the interview on social media.
