Before finding his final and most cherished love, Wanda Miller, Kenny Rogers had walked down the aisle four times. His first marriage was with Janice Gordon, which lasted from 1958 to 1960. Following that, he tied the knot with Jean Rogers from 1960 to 1963. His third marriage was to Margo Anderson, lasting from 1964 to 1976, and his fourth was with Marianne Gordon from 1977 to 1993. Yet, in his final interview with Closer Weekly, Kenny confessed that none of those relationships held a candle to what he shared with Wanda.
“I think the years with Wanda have been the most rewarding. That’s no offense to any of the other people I was married to. I just think I wasn’t ready before,” Kenny reflected. “I’ve had a lot of things in my life. I’ve made loads of money and had the biggest and best of everything, but now I’m back to looking at the small things that matter: my boys. Wanda. It’s not about me anymore. It’s about them.”

During his 23-year marriage with Wanda, Kenny and his beloved soulmate welcomed twin boys, Justin and Jordan, both 14. Though Kenny had already been a father to three older children—Carole, 61, Christopher, 38, and Kenny Jr., 55—from previous relationships, he still gave his all to Justin and Jordan. With Kenny, what you saw was what you got, according to Marianne, Chris’ mother, who exclusively told Closer: “He was very easygoing and had a smile every day.”
Marianne and Kenny, despite their divorce, maintained a friendly relationship until the end. She fondly remembered their time together but admitted one downside of their marriage: Kenny's busy schedule. “A father on the road is never as good as a father who comes home every night,” she said. Yet, their friendship endured, even after their split. Kenny's legacy lives on through his music and his family, touching countless lives even after his passing on March 20 from natural causes.
“There’s no question, I will miss the crowds and the people who have always been so sweet to me,” Kenny revealed. “I’ll also miss the friendships I’ve made. But my life, you couldn’t have scripted it any better.”
