Let’s dive deeper into what’s happening in Debra’s world. There’s someone special in her life who she really, really likes, but marriage? Not so much. A close friend told Closer that Debra views marriage as something from the past. Her 16-year marriage to Daniel Zelman, who’s an actor, screenwriter, television producer, and director, ended in divorce back in March 2016. The two met while studying at New York University in 1990 and tied the knot in September 2000. Fast forward to April 2004, and they welcomed their only child, son Roman.

Debra and Daniel’s Co-Parenting Relationship

Thankfully, the breakup hasn’t soured their relationship when it comes to raising Roman. A friend of Debra’s says they have a “good and peaceful” co-parenting relationship. “Roman is always at the center of their focus. Both Debra and Daniel want the absolute best for each other,” the insider shared. And if that wasn’t enough excitement for Debra, her career is soaring again with the announcement that Will & Grace is returning to NBC this fall.

Debra’s Balancing Act Between Work and Family

Debra is a woman who doesn’t stop. She’s always working and involved in various projects. Recently, she admitted that the most crucial lesson she’s learned is knowing her own limits. “It took me a long time to understand that,” she confessed. Despite her hectic schedule, Debra always finds time to bond with Roman, who’s now 13. “I never spend enough time with my son. I always wish I could spend more,” she’s been quoted as saying. Her hairstylist, Luke O’Connor, told Closer: “They’re extremely close. Roman’s a character! He went to a stand-up comedy school for summer camp, and he’s got us all laughing. You can see how proud Debra is of him.”

With her career busier than ever, Debra admits it’s tough to juggle everything. “I feel successful when I have a balance of the things that matter to me. The times I wasn’t happy or fulfilled were when I was neglecting certain parts of myself, whether it was being a great mom or fully present at work. It’s all about balance,” she said.
