Alright, folks, here's the scoop: It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing when Kensington Palace released their New Year's Eve 2017 year-in-review video on Instagram. The official Instagram account of the royal family posted a series of adorable videos celebrating all the amazing moments of 2017. First up, we saw highlights of Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Prince Harry’s UK engagements throughout the year. Then came the overseas tours, followed by their incredible work with the royal foundation. Finally, the video wrapped up with the most memorable family moments of the year, showing Princess Charlotte receiving her first bouquet, Prince George starting school, George and Charlotte attending Pippa Middleton’s wedding, and Prince Harry's engagement to Meghan Markle. But hold on—something seems to be missing!
Now, here's the kicker: one of the biggest royal announcements of 2017 was glaringly absent from the highlight reel. That's right, the worldwide announcement of Kate and William's third pregnancy didn’t make the cut! Fans were quick to notice and even quicker to voice their disappointment. "What about the announcement of the Duke and Duchess expecting their third baby?!" one fan exclaimed. Another chimed in, "Duchess of Cambridge announces third pregnancy?!?!" Clearly, this was a major oversight that left royal watchers scratching their heads.

But wait, there's more! Another sharp-eyed royal enthusiast pointed out that another major royal event was also left out. "Prince Philip… a long-serving member of the royal family announces retirement?!?" the fan noted. Indeed, Queen Elizabeth's husband, 96, officially retired from royal duties in August 2017 after an incredible 65 years of service and over 22,000 solo engagements. So why did these two monumental events—Kate's pregnancy announcement and Prince Philip's retirement—get left out of the video? Some royal fans came to Kensington Palace’s defense, arguing that we should be grateful for what they did share. "No complaints, people! What a charming thing they are doing by sharing with us! Let’s always just be thankful, ok?" one fan wrote. Another added, "Thanks for sharing! I've enjoyed each of these milestones."

In mid-October, Kate and William, both 35, officially announced that their third baby is due in April 2018. Following the exciting news, a source close to the mom-of-two revealed that Kate is reportedly "feeling great" after battling hyperemesis gravidarum early in her pregnancy. "[She is] enjoying her later months of pregnancy… It’s amazing what a difference the later trimesters feel like compared to the early days, which she really struggled with more than ever this time," a source told Us Weekly. Can't wait to meet the royal family’s newest addition next spring!
