Barbra Streisand Goes On A Neighborhood Quest To Find Her Missing Chickens

Renowned actress and singer Barbra Streisand has a heart full of love, and it’s not just for the spotlight. This time, it's for her feathered friends. When her beloved chickens decided to make a break for it on her Malibu estate, it was clear how much these birds mean to her.

Barbra was genuinely distressed when she couldn’t find her chickens, according to an insider speaking with Life & Style. "She was genuinely worried that wild animals, like coyotes, might harm them or that they could get run over by a car." At 75 years old, Barbra didn’t let her age slow her down. She took to the neighborhood streets, knocking on doors in search of her runaway flock, and eventually, she successfully rounded them all up.

Neighbors couldn’t help but be charmed by the encounter. “Most of the neighbors thought it was a delightful surprise to chat with Barbra,” the insider shares. “If her chickens ever go missing again, I’m sure they’d be happy to help return them—assuming they can catch those speedy birds!”

A Heart Still Healing

This chicken escapade comes just half a year after Barbra faced the heartbreak of losing her cherished dog, Samantha, after 14 years together. “This was the last time my picture was taken with my beloved girl Samantha,” she captioned a touching photo of herself with the late pup in May. “May she rest in peace. We cherish every moment of the 14 years we had with her. May 2003 – May 2017.”

Before Samantha’s passing, Barbra was a frequent poster of adorable photos of her beloved pet, showcasing their undeniable bond. A source previously told People, “Barbra was devoted to Sammie. At home in Malibu, he followed her everywhere. He was truly a loving companion. Her best friend.”
