    What Happened?

Now, let's dive into the details of this incident. It all went down on New Year's Day when Loretta was at home enjoying some quality time with her new puppy. According to her daughter Patsy, who spoke to People magazine, “She had an accident on New Year’s Day and fractured her hip.”

Patsy elaborated, “She has a new puppy — we don’t really know if she was chasing after the puppy or what, but she slid and fractured her hip. We blame the puppy! Though the puppy brings smiles so there’s that.” Sounds like Loretta’s sense of humor is still intact!

    How’s She Doing Now?

Patsy reassured everyone that despite the severity of the situation, Loretta is in good spirits. She mentioned, “At my mom’s age it’s so dangerous when it comes to the hip, so we’re all just grateful she seems to be okay. She’s up putting weight on it and starting her rehab now.”

Loretta’s daughter added, “She’s in great spirits. She’s just aggravated because she was recovering so well and getting around. Now this is a setback.” It sounds like Loretta's fighting spirit is kicking in, and we know she'll push through this challenge.

    Reflecting on Her Resilience

Patsy is referring to Loretta’s stroke back in May 2017. In October, Loretta made a triumphant return to the spotlight, sharing with fans that she’s “getting stronger every day.”

It’s no surprise that Loretta’s determination kicked in almost immediately after the stroke. “She can talk, and Loretta told me that she thought she’s going to be OK. She seems to be coming along pretty good,” her brother Herman Webb exclusively told Closer Weekly in June. “Her left side was kind of paralyzed, but [she can get around by] herself now, she just has to use a walker. She’s doing really good — that’s the main thing!”

Loretta won’t let this hip fracture slow her down. Her daughter added, “She said she’s just mad about being back to laying up watching TV! Hopefully, she will recover quickly. She’s strong — it’s amazing she’s able to go through all she’s been through.”

“She had a stroke in May and has been having band rehearsals and getting around great by herself; she’s recording, she’s finishing up another album. That’s what she’s been focusing on. She’s nonstop but she’s always been that way — it’s what keeps her going.”

Stay well, Loretta! We’re all rooting for you!
