‘URAAN Pakistan’: A Game-Changer Economic Initiative by PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the ‘URAAN Pakistan’ initiative, an ambitious economic program designed to spur sustainable development and revive Pakistan’s struggling economy. This groundbreaking initiative focuses on creating jobs, empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and fostering investment across key sectors.
The ‘URAAN Pakistan’ program, which translates to “Flight of Pakistan,” aims to address critical economic challenges by prioritizing industrial growth, export enhancement, and technology-driven reforms. PM Shehbaz highlighted that this initiative is a comprehensive effort to uplift marginalized communities, enhance financial inclusion, and stabilize the economy through well-structured policies.
Under ‘URAAN Pakistan,’ significant funding will be allocated to support startups, youth entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development. Key aspects of the program include vocational training for young people, incentives for foreign and local investors, and energy sector reforms to address chronic power shortages.
In his speech at the launch event, PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of collective action, urging all stakeholders to support the initiative for national progress. He also assured transparency and accountability in the execution of the program to maximize its impact.
Economists have lauded the initiative as a step in the right direction, noting that it has the potential to catalyze economic recovery and position Pakistan as a competitive player in the global market. However, challenges such as inflation, debt management, and political stability remain crucial for its success.

Rana Sanaullah Says Imran Khan Can Be Released If He Fully Apologizes for May 9

Senior PML-N leader and former interior minister Rana Sanaullah has stated that PTI founder Imran Khan could be released if he offers a full and unconditional apology for the events of May 9. Speaking to the media, Sanaullah emphasized that the government has no personal vendetta against Khan but insisted that accountability for the violent protests and attacks on military installations must be ensured. He argued that a genuine apology and acceptance of responsibility could pave the way for legal relief.
The statement has sparked a strong reaction from PTI leaders, who maintain that the cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated. Meanwhile, legal experts believe that any decision regarding his release would ultimately depend on the courts rather than political negotiations. The May 9 incidents, which saw widespread protests following Khan’s arrest, led to mass detentions, legal actions against PTI leaders, and a crackdown on the party. Rana Sanaullah’s remarks suggest that the government may be open to a political settlement if Imran Khan agrees to acknowledge his party’s role in the events.
