Top PTI Leaders Taken into Custody Near Adiala Jail
Following the escalation of political tensions in Pakistan, several senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were reportedly taken into custody near the Adiala Jail checkpost in Rawalpindi. This detention took place amid growing protests and rallies organized by PTI in response to recent government actions and the legal cases involving PTI chairman Imran Khan.
According to reports, PTI’s top leaders had gathered to show solidarity and address party supporters, leading to heightened security in the area. Law enforcement officials, including police and paramilitary forces, were deployed to control the situation and prevent any disruptions. As the leaders approached the vicinity of Adiala Jail, where PTI supporters were also reportedly present, authorities detained the leaders, citing security concerns and potential risks of unrest.
PTI representatives have condemned the detentions, claiming the move is politically motivated and an attempt to suppress opposition voices. The party has announced plans to challenge the detentions through legal channels and has called upon supporters nationwide to continue their peaceful protests.
