Shoukat Yousafzai: PTI Warns Government to Start Talks Before December 14 Movement

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shoukat Yousafzai has delivered an ultimatum to the government, demanding immediate initiation of dialogue to resolve pressing political and economic issues. Addressing a press conference, Yousafzai warned that if the government fails to engage in negotiations by December 14, PTI would launch a nationwide protest movement. He stated that this movement would be organized and peaceful, but its impact would be substantial, aimed at highlighting the grievances of the common people and pressuring the government to take decisive action.
Yousafzai criticized the government’s inaction and accused it of ignoring the plight of the citizens, particularly amidst a challenging economic climate. He stressed that PTI has made repeated efforts to resolve the ongoing political deadlock amicably, but the administration’s lack of interest in dialogue has forced the party to adopt a confrontational stance. According to Yousafzai, PTI’s planned movement will not only call for better governance but also for accountability and transparency in the government’s actions.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of increasing political unrest and public dissatisfaction with the government. Yousafzai expressed confidence in the support of the people, claiming that PTI’s struggle represents the aspirations of the masses. He further added that the movement would continue until the government takes substantial steps toward addressing PTI’s demands, which include reforms, accountability, and measures to alleviate the economic hardships faced by ordinary Pakistanis.

Rana Sanaullah Says Imran Khan Can Be Released If He Fully Apologizes for May 9

Senior PML-N leader and former interior minister Rana Sanaullah has stated that PTI founder Imran Khan could be released if he offers a full and unconditional apology for the events of May 9. Speaking to the media, Sanaullah emphasized that the government has no personal vendetta against Khan but insisted that accountability for the violent protests and attacks on military installations must be ensured. He argued that a genuine apology and acceptance of responsibility could pave the way for legal relief.
The statement has sparked a strong reaction from PTI leaders, who maintain that the cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated. Meanwhile, legal experts believe that any decision regarding his release would ultimately depend on the courts rather than political negotiations. The May 9 incidents, which saw widespread protests following Khan’s arrest, led to mass detentions, legal actions against PTI leaders, and a crackdown on the party. Rana Sanaullah’s remarks suggest that the government may be open to a political settlement if Imran Khan agrees to acknowledge his party’s role in the events.
