“LHC Rules No Pemra Orders Banning Imran Khan’s Name in Media”
In a significant ruling, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has found no evidence of any official orders from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banning the use of Imran Khan’s name in the media. The court’s decision came after PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) leaders raised concerns over alleged restrictions imposed by PEMRA, claiming that media outlets were prohibited from mentioning the name of their party chairman, Imran Khan.
The case was brought before the LHC following reports that various news channels and media platforms were refraining from covering or referring to Imran Khan due to supposed PEMRA directives. PTI argued that such a ban violated the constitutional right to freedom of expression and access to information.
After reviewing the evidence presented by both sides, the court ruled that no such PEMRA orders could be found in the official records. The ruling effectively dismissed claims that the regulatory authority had imposed a blanket ban on media outlets concerning coverage of Imran Khan.
In response, PEMRA has issued a statement clarifying that it has not issued any directives prohibiting the mention of Imran Khan’s name in media. The regulatory body reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining media freedom while ensuring that media content adheres to the law and ethical guidelines.
PTI leaders, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, alleging that indirect censorship and pressure on media outlets have created an environment where journalists are reluctant to cover their party’s activities and leaders, particularly Imran Khan.

Court Issues Arrest Warrants for Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana Case
In a significant development, a court has issued arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in connection with the ongoing Toshakhana case. The court took this step after Bushra Bibi repeatedly failed to appear for scheduled hearings, despite multiple summonses.
The Toshakhana case involves allegations that the former first lady unlawfully retained valuable gifts from foreign dignitaries without declaring them, a violation of government protocols. The court had earlier instructed Bushra Bibi to present herself for questioning, but her continued absence led to the issuance of arrest warrants.
Legal experts suggest that this action could further escalate the legal challenges facing the former ruling family. The arrest warrants have been issued in the context of mounting pressure on Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), as multiple members face legal scrutiny over corruption and other charges. The case remains a focal point in the political landscape, with critics accusing the government of political vendettas.

Rana Sanaullah Claims PTI Will Not Be Able to Organize Another Protest in Capital
Rana Sanaullah, the Interior Minister of Pakistan, has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not be able to organize another protest in Islamabad. He emphasized that the government is fully prepared to prevent any such attempts, citing strict measures to maintain order and ensure that public safety is not compromised.
The statement comes in the wake of recent political unrest and protests staged by PTI, which have significantly disrupted the capital. Sanaullah assured that the government would take all necessary steps to ensure peace, signaling a firm stance against any future protests by PTI in Islamabad.
PTI leaders, on the other hand, have rejected these claims, accusing the government of attempting to stifle democratic rights and suppressing peaceful protests. The situation has raised tensions in the political landscape, with both sides gearing up for a potentially contentious showdown.
